Welcome to the Fishcamp Blog

Welcome to Fishcamp:

Whether you're just a brand-new angler or you've spent decades chasing wild trout in the high country, we're glad you found us. Here at Fishcamp, we view fly fishing as a lifelong adventure. However, to embark on a lifelong adventure, you need to know a few things.

And that's how Fishcamp was born, with a simple idea: to create a place where anglers could come to learn about everything related to chasing trout and their local stream, as well as going after permit in the Caribbean's crystal-clear waters.  A lifelong learning approach to exploring and experiencing all the wild places that have to offer.   The best way to achieve this is through the main areas of the dream: Education, Adventure, and Conservation.

Education: Learn Something Every Time You Cast

Everyone remembers their first trout on the fly, their first tight loop, or their first fishless day that still felt like a win. At Fishcamp, we're committed to sharing the knowledge that helps make those moments happen.

The courses we put together with world-class experts are designed to help the person picking up a fly rod for the first time or the experienced angler wanting to fine-tune their skills or embark on a new adventure in new Waters. From gear breakdowns to casting tips to entomology lessons that make sense, our courses and blog will always offer something to learn.

Expect how-to guides, fly tying tutorials, gear reviews, and real talk from folks who fish hard and care even harder.

Adventure: It's Out There. Go Find It

Every fly angler is chasing something. It might be a native cutthroat in a beaver pond miles off trail, a permit on the flats, or just some peace and quiet on a familiar stretch of home water. That's the spirit of adventure we celebrate here at Fishcamp. Our stories aim to inspire your next trip, whether it's around the block or across the continent. Fly fishing is at its best when it's part of a bigger adventure.  A huge part of that adventure is how many different Avenues of fly fishing you can get into, so that adventure might not be that trip to Patagonia. Still, it could be trading in your trout rod to go after some stripers, whatever your adventure is, we've got you covered.

Conservation: Protect What You Love

We fish because we love wild places. From the remote creeks deep in the backcountry to the urban rivers running through our cities, these waters mean something. But they don't stay healthy by accident. At Fishcamp, we highlight the conservation stories that matter from public land protections to native fish restoration efforts.

We work to amplify voices in the fly fishing world who are doing the hard work to keep our rivers clean and our fisheries thriving. Because if we're not protecting the places we fish, we're just passing through. We want to leave it better than we found it.

This Is Just the Beginning

We're just getting started. Expect regular blog posts, behind-the-scenes content from the Fishcamp team, giveaways, and spotlights on the individuals making a positive impact in the fly fishing world. We've got big plans, and we're stoked to have you along for the ride.
