The Teton River flows quietly through eastern Idaho: a wild trout stream, a working agricultural river, and the lifeblood of the Teton Valley community.
But in 1976, everything changed. The catastrophic collapse of the Teton Dam unleashed nearly 80 billion gallons of water, devastating downstream communities and forever altering the river’s story. It killed 11 people, flooded hundreds of thousands of acres, and caused billions in damage.
Nearly 50 years later, the river, and the people who depend on it, continue to recover, rebuild, and reimagine what the future of the watershed can be. Through our Collab for Conservation campaign, we’re raising funds to support the people doing the real work on the ground.
